ALDI Australia is bringing back its Snow Gear Special Buys range for 2026, with more than 50 winter essentials landing in the middle aisle from Saturday, May 23.
The range includes thermals, waterproof jackets and pants, boots and accessories, with all items priced under $100.
The launch comes as research commissioned on behalf of ALDI Australia found 3.7 million Australians, or 17%, are planning a snow trip in 2026.
According to the research, 35% of Australians say family and friends are inspiring them to book snow trips, while 27% are influenced by social media and 25% by the desire to tick off bucket list experiences.
Taking the runway to the ice
To launch the range, ALDI staged what it described as Australia’s first fashion show on ice.
The retailer partnered with its official Snow Gear 2026 partner, the Sydney Bears Ice Hockey Club, with players showcasing the range at ICE ZOO Sydney.
The activation put the range’s waterproof, durable and breathable designs through a cold-weather test, combining winter fashion with performance on the ice.
Belinda Grice on the launch
Belinda Grice, Group Director, Special Buys, ALDI Australia, said the retailer wanted to launch the range in a way that matched the conditions it was built for.
“This year, we set out to test our highly anticipated Snow Gear Special Buys range in a Good Different way that matched the conditions it was built for. That’s why we’ve partnered with the Sydney Bears Ice Hockey Club to showcase how performance meets style on our icy runway.”
“Our Snow Gear Special Buys deliver the full package; functional, fashionable pieces at exceptionally low ALDI prices.
Grice added that the gear was created by experts in attention to detail, with matter, durability, functionality and comfort for cold weather
“Who better to put our gear to the test than the Sydney Bears Ice Hockey Club? These elite athletes are tough on their gear, and ALDI’s range has stood up against real movement, real speed, and real conditions,” Grice continued.
Sydney Bears put the range to the test
Bianca Musico, Club President of the Sydney Bears Ice Hockey Club, said the partnership brought together high-performance sport and winter gear.
“At the Sydney Bears, our players are well acquainted with icy conditions and they truly live and breathe high-performance in every aspect, from the gear they wear to gameplay, ” Musico said.
“Whether Aussies are heading to the ice rink for a game of hockey or hitting the slopes this winter, ALDI’s Snow Gear really delivers on all fronts; price, performance and style.”
Snow-ready for under $255

ALDI said adults can kit themselves out for $255, while kids can be snow-ready for $187.
A family of four can be equipped for the slopes or winter adventures for under $884.
Grice said the range was built for both snow trips and everyday winter wear.
“Whether you’re carving up the slopes, building your first snowman, or just staying warm on a crisp winter getaway, our range has you covered from head to toe.”
