Nine extends Wimbledon rights in Australia to 2029

The tournament will air across the 9Network, on 9Now and on Stan Sport.

Nine has secured the exclusive Australian broadcast rights to The Championships, Wimbledon through to 2029, extending its partnership with the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC).

The multi-year agreement covers the 9Network, 9Now and Stan Sport, keeping Wimbledon within Nine’s premium sport slate.

What does the deal cover?

Nine said the renewed agreement delivers exclusive Australian rights across free-to-air, streaming, subscription and digital platforms.

• Live and free coverage on the 9Network and 9Now, including key matches across the tournament.
• Extensive streaming coverage on Stan Sport, including daily highlights, mini matches and 4K UHD where available.
• Daily highlights produced by the AELTC, available across the 9Network, 9Now and Stan Sport.

Nine’s pitch: premium sport across platforms

Matt Stanton, Chief Executive Officer, Nine, said Wimbledon is “one of the most prestigious properties in global sport” and the extension reflects the company’s disciplined approach to rights investment.

Amanda Laing, Managing Director, Streaming and Broadcast, Nine, said the broadcaster’s focus is building an experience “across platforms” so audiences can watch “wherever and however they choose”.

AELTC: focus on reach and access

Paul Davies, Associate Director, Broadcast, Production & Media Rights, AELTC, said the organisations shared a commitment to making “world-class tennis accessible to the widest possible audience”.

He pointed to Nine’s free-to-air reach and multi-platform offering as key to ensuring Wimbledon continues to reach millions of Australians.

What happens next?

Wimbledon will continue to be available across the 9Network, 9Now and Stan Sport in 2026 under the existing rights agreement, before the new extension period runs through to 2029.
