SCA appoints Ed Kirkwood as B105 content director

His return to the network will kick off in October.

Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) has named Ed Kirkwood as the new Content Director for Brisbane’s B105, marking a return to the network for the experienced programmer.

He will take up the role from Monday, 13 October.

Kirkwood’s career has seen him move across public and commercial radio, with more than a decade in content strategy and leadership roles.

This appointment brings him back to SCA, where he previously worked on shows at Fox FM and 2DayFM.

Experience across networks

Most recently, Kirkwood was Content Lead at ARN for the KIIS Network’s national drive programs, overseeing Will & Woody, Zach and Dom, and The Pick Up.

Before that, he spent four years as Executive Producer of Will & Woody, managing creative direction, building production teams, and supporting both ratings and commercial results.

His earlier career included time at the ABC and triple j, where he produced Breakfast, Drive, and Evenings, before moving into commercial radio.

His return to SCA adds further depth to its national content team, with a background spanning strategy, innovation, and audience growth.

Kirkwood on his new role

On the announcement, Kirkwood said: “I’m incredibly excited to be rejoining SCA, with all that it has to offer in the way of professional excellence and a high performing culture.
