Amanda Unwin joins Nine Radio as Sydney Director of Audio Sales

The new appointment comes as Nine reshapes its audio sales structure to align with its Total Audio strategy.

Nine Radio has appointed Amanda Unwin as Sydney Director for Nine Audio Sales, effective from July.

The move is part of a broader restructure aimed at strengthening Nine’s commercial offering across its audio portfolio, as the company continues to invest in radio and digital audio as key pillars of its cross-platform sales strategy.

A strategic hire at a pivotal time

Unwin will report directly to Brian Gallagher, Nine’s Commercial Director – Audio, and play a central role in implementing Nine’s new audio sales model in Sydney.

Her remit includes overseeing change management, mentoring the local team, and driving revenue growth through tailored client solutions across Nine’s audio assets.

Gallagher said Unwin’s leadership would help guide the transition.

“As we move to a new model for Nine Audio sales, I’m excited that we’ve been able to attract someone with Amanda’s calibre and experience. She’s extremely well respected in the Sydney market and will provide our team with the leadership they need to thrive.”

Deep experience in audio and commercial leadership

Unwin brings over a decade of audio sales experience, including 12 years with Southern Cross Austereo in Sydney and most recently as Head of Sales for SCA Perth.

Her client portfolio has included major advertisers such as Telstra, McDonald’s, Woolworths, Harvey Norman, and the Federal Government.

“I’m thrilled to be back in the Sydney market and once again working under Brian’s leadership,” Unwin said. “It’s a privilege to keep championing a channel I’m deeply passionate about, and I’m looking forward to exploring new formats that drive real growth for our partners.”

Supporting Nine’s Total Audio proposition

The appointment comes as Nine continues to roll out its “Total Audio” strategy, part of a larger commercial vision that includes Total TV and Total Publishing.

The unified approach is designed to provide brands with scalable solutions across platforms, with audio playing a key role in enabling live, local, and highly engaged campaigns.

Unwin’s arrival is expected to strengthen Nine’s ability to support advertisers of all sizes, from national brands seeking integrated, multi-platform campaigns to smaller clients focused on radio-first, location-specific activations.
