Strategic research consultancy 5D has launched 5D Nexus – a new market intelligence hub.
The hub is designed to unify fragmented data sources and give organisations a forward-looking view of their business and competitive landscape.
Developed within 5D’s AI division, Nexus is positioned not as a static dashboard or data warehouse, but as a “living” intelligence unit that evolves alongside client needs.
Connecting insights across the business
Nexus brings together internal customer insights with external market context, including competitor activity, category shifts, pricing changes and relevant industry news.
The platform also incorporates predictive modelling, enabling organisations to understand why key metrics have moved and to simulate potential business scenarios from pricing adjustments to product launches before committing to them.
Managing Director comments
5D Managing Director, Sydney, Alex Vishney, said many organisations struggle to translate data into actionable intelligence.
“Organisations are often rich in data but poor in insight and market intelligence. They have more data than ever, but it sits in siloes that don’t talk to each other,” Vishney said.
“Nexus brings together customer insights, brand data, competitive intelligence and market context in one place so teams can see the full picture – not just what happened, but what’s likely to happen next.”
He added that the ability to simulate business impacts before implementation is a significant shift from traditional reporting models.
“We created Nexus because we kept seeing the same problem among clients: good research being conducted in isolation, insights that are lost within the business, and no mechanism to connect what you know about your customers with what’s happening in the market around you. Nexus is designed to make insight a living asset that compounds over time.”
From hindsight to foresight
The platform operates through a smart data hub structure comprising interconnected “cells” tailored to different parts of the organisation.
Each cell is fed by relevant data sources, including NPS tracking, brand research, ad hoc studies, and industry reports and becomes more intelligent as usage increases.
Embedded AI agents allow teams to interrogate, visualise and simulate data without requiring specialist analytical support.
Founder and CEO comments

Lyndall Spooner
5D Founder and CEO Lyndall Spooner said the launch represents a shift in how research should deliver competitive advantage.
“The industry has spent decades perfecting the art of looking backwards. Nexus gives our clients the ability to look forward with confidence, and to test scenarios, model outcomes and make decisions grounded in connected intelligence rather than fragmented data.”
