Taronga turn-around as Zoo helps Nine to #1, 450,000 watch Bathurst Qualifying

The Total TV ratings audiences for the 6pm news bulletins were 1,386,000/1,321,000 for Seven News and 1,049,000 and 1,008,000 for Nine News.

The first episode of the new season of Endeavour on ABC posted an audience of 925,000, a climb of 25% on its overnight numbers.

The biggest 7.30pm Total TV audience was 772,000 for Better Homes and Gardens followed by Gardening Australia on 765,000 and Taronga: Who’s Who in the Zoo on 560,000.

Seven

The season final of Better Homes and Gardens was a big attraction with 408,000, but it couldn’t improve on last week’s number when 440,000 tuned.
The Friday movie was This Means War with 184,000 tuned in.
Seven’s afternoon coverage of Supercars qualifying ran to 5.30pm. The audience was 174,000.

Nine

A Current Affair Friday was on 563,000 which is close to last week’s 587,000.
Taronga: Who’s Who in the Zoo held firm too with 374,000 after 386,000 a week ago. It wasn’t far behind Better Homes and outrated Gardening Australia.
Nine’s Friday movie The Green Mile was on 161,000.

The channel didn’t have an entry in the top 20 with 10 News First the best on 300,000.
The Project made it to 239,000 at 7pm after 286,000 Friday last week.
The Christmas edition and the season final of The Living Room followed on 211,000.
Will Smith was then among the guests on The Graham Norton Show Encore with 141,000 watching.

ABC

Gardening Australia was down week-on-week from over 400,000 to 360,000.
Episode two of the short three-part season of Endeavour was very consistent with 472,000 after launching a week ago with…472,000. The body count was again high with a Catholic priest copping a bullet at close range in the confessional box.
Earlier in the day Bluey drew another big crowd with 302,000 watching.

SBS

Episode two of Inside Balmoral was on 148,000 after 186,000 a week ago.
