After six nights of TV ratings in Week 42, Seven holds a lead over Nine in both primary and network share across the five metro markets.
Total TV ratings Friday October 8
In the data measuring the total TV audience which includes Consolidated 7 and BVOD viewing, the final episode of the drama Des jumped 33% in overnight viewing. The total audience for the episode was 856,000.
The biggest boost in the 7.30pm timeslot was for Gardening Australia, up 15% with a total audience of 882,000.
The only other show with a double-digit boost was the SBS series Legends of the Pharaohs with a 10% lift and a total audience of 309,000.

Seven
Seven News led the 6pm hour with 921,000 and 917,000 across the hour.
Better Homes and Gardens was then the leader in the lifestyle battle with an audience of 495,000 after 466,000 a week ago.
Seven’s Friday movie was Knives Out with 238,000 watching.
Nine
Nine News at 6pm started on 886,000 and then dipped to 844,000 after 6.30pm.
The Friday edition of A Current Affair was on 564,000, slipping below the 602,000 watching a week ago.
Country House Hunters is a great start to the weekend for dreamers wanting to exit the city. However in overnight numbers it trailed the other offerings with an audience of 236,000 for the first episode and then 281,000 for the second.
Nine’s Friday movie was Mission Impossible – Fallout on 190,000.

The Friday edition of The Project was the channel’s best performer with another week close to 350,000 at 7pm.
The Living Room did 330,000, up from 299,000 a week ago.
An encore screening of The Graham Norton Show was on 165,000 after 199,000 a week ago.
ABC
ABC News was on 631,000 at 7pm, a modest bump from 631,000 the previous Friday.
Gardening Australia was on 490,000 at 7.30pm, the second biggest lifestyle audience early on a Friday evening.
The audience lifted to 548,000 at 8.30pm for the first episode of Annika at 8.30pm, the latest crime drama from the brilliant and busy Nicola Walker. The series was a timeslot winner for the ABC.
The final episode of Capital followed on 194,000.
SBS
Expedition Bermuda Triangle was the Friday night doco exploring one of the world’s great mysteries. The audience of 165,000 made it the channel’s #1.
Earlier in the night a continuation of Legends of the Pharaohs was on 160,000, down from 180,000 a week ago.
