The Block was the top entertainment program of the night with 1.210m viewers, which reflected an increase of 32% on its overnight viewership. The episode saw each team running behind as they attempted the biggest ever room renovation on the show, and also dealt with supply shortages and delays.

Home and Away was the top entertainment program for Seven with an average of 848,000 (up 23%) watching the first two episodes of the Aussie soap, before 798,000 (up 24%) tuned in for the third and final episode. The Front Bar also performed well for Seven with 642,000 viewers, up 18%.

The top program on 10 was Gogglebox which had an audience of 498,000, with a robust increase of 81%. The episode ran at 10:30pm in most markets due to the Socceroo v New Zealand match.

Overnight TV Ratings, September 29

Nine was the top primary channel last night with a share of 19.8%, while Seven was the top network with 27.8% after a strong performance from 7TWO (4.8%) and 7mate (4.0%).

On Nine, A Current Affair had a strong audience of 556,000 viewers as the episode revealed that Optus has a history of failing to store customers’ personal information safely. RBT then followed in the 7:30pm slot with 420,000.

On Seven, Home and Away was the top entertainment program of the night after the first two episodes of the evening averaged 437,000 viewers. The third and final episode of the night had 401,000 tune in. 

On 10, The Amazing Race had 292,000 viewers as Chelsea and Jamus were sent packing. Gogglebox was then the top entertainment program of the night with 441,000 viewers.

On the ABC, 7.30 had 463,000 viewers tune in, making it #1 in its timeslot.
