Seven

Home and Away followed Seven News (1.070m/1.041m) with a handy 604,000.

SAS Australia then aired its third episode for the week and had an audience of 654,000, which was the highest rating episode so far this season.

In the episode, the recruits faced the Death by Drowning’ task which saw them strapped into a car and submerged underwater and had to hold steady for 40 seconds before making their escape and swimming to shore.

Overcome by fear, Manu Feildel handed in his number before attempting the task, becoming the third recruit to leave the course.

Bonnie Anderson was also on the verge of quitting but managed to complete the exercise, while the task brought up traumatic memories for athlete Jessica Peris who was later brought in for questioning by the DS.

As the recruits started out on a combat fitness test, Emma Husar became the fourth person to VW, when the pain from a calf injury became too much to bear.

A test of integrity saw a gruelling series of exercises with hidden cameras watching the recruits’ every move.

Koby Abberton was caught out cutting corners, doing 15 press ups instead of the instructed 30. After failing to own up, he was hauled over the coals by the DS.

This completed the first week of the second season of SAS Australia on Seven:
Monday: 647,000
Tuesday: 626,000
Wednesday: 654,000

RFDS followed with 417,000 viewers and was just a single episode after airing a double last week.

Nine

Nine won a close battle with Seven to secure the top primary channel (21.8%) and network (29.3%) last night.

A Current Affair had 722,000 as the show covered people over 60 who don’t want to take the AstraZeneca vaccine.

The Block had 810,000 viewers as Josh and Luke were ordered to take down the walls around their outdoor bath. The structure has been declared non-compliant and having it there compromises the whole site.

There are potential changes looming for other teams. Tanya and Vito were considering altering their challenge piece, as were Mitch and Mark. Shelley Craft had a few ideas for them, which she shares during her walk-around with host Scott Cam.

Factual reality programs then took over with Paramedics (472,000) and Kings Cross ER (125,000) airing back to back.

10

The Project had 251,000 (6:30pm) and 460,000 (7:00pm) as the show covered the vaccine deadlines for aged care and health workers as well as the game-changing drugs reducing the chances of Covid patients ending up in the ICU.

Making it Australia made its series debut to an audience of 474,000. The episode saw children’s entertainer Kat leave the competition when her heritage shrine failed to impress the judges.

With three hours on the clock, the first Faster Craft challenge saw the Makers create a 3D Secret Beast that best represented their inner animal. With octopuses from Stephanie, Rizaldy and Rehanait was Melburnian architect, Jack, who scored the first coveted patch with his light-up fruit bat disco prawn, made from neon acrylics and aluminium tubing.

In the main challenge titled Master Craft, The Shrining. Makers were given eight hours to create a heritage shire honouring their families, histories and personal stories.

It was Indigenous Artist, Robert, who won with the construction of a traditional shield, beautifully carved out of red gum with burned carvings representing his family’s totems.

Robert

The bad news was delivered to Kat, that her modern take on the harp lacked finishing details and similarity with the instrument’s classic shape.

ABC

Hard Quiz continues to be an audience magnet for the ABC, bringing in 601,000 viewers to kick off it’s comedy lineup.

This was followed by Question Everything with Wil Anderon and Jan Fran with 463,000. This was up on last week’s 410,000,

Rosehaven had 467,000 as the show continues to edge towards its final episode.
