Nine’s Space Invaders was the top non-news program in the total TV ratings, reaching a total audience of 497,000, an increase of 15%.

Nine also claimed the #2 non-news program with Getaway, bringing in a total audience of 483,000 a lift of 4%.

Seven’s Border Security – Australia’s Front Lines had a total audience of 464,000, up 4%, while ABC’s Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras coverage clocked 424,000 views, a lift of 7%.

Overnight TV Ratings, March 12

Seven has narrowly taken the #1 network share spot with 28.6%, followed by Nine with 27.1% despite Nine winning the primary share channel by 0.5%. with 17.5%.

The top non-news program of the night goes to ABC’s seventh episode of Death in Paradise, which brought in a metro viewership of 544,000, followed by All Creatures Great and Small with 421,000 views.

Nine (233,000), Seven (189,000) and 10 (117,000) all ran coverage of the Australia Unites: Red Cross Flood Appeal to help raise funds for flood-affected communities across Queensland and New South Wales.

Things kicked off with Seven’s Natalie Barr, Nine’s Ben Fordham and Network 10’s Amanda Keller, hosting the telethon, followed by Seven’s David ‘Kochie’ Koch, Nine’s Sylvia Jeffreys and Network 10’s Chris Brown to finish off the night.

By 12.30 am, five hours after the telethon started, $25,249,796 had been raised.

Seven’s top entertainment program of the night was Border Security – Australia’s Front Line with 254,000 metro viewers, while Nine’s was an episode of Getaway with 246,000.

The top non-news program on SBS was a repeat of World’s Greatest Bridges.

Fox League’s Live NRL coverage of the West Tigers v Melbourne Storm match clocked 223,000 views, as Storm took the 26-16 win at the Western Sydney Stadium, despite Christian Welch, Robert Jennings and Brandon Smith all suffering injuries.

An earlier game between the Warriors v Dragons brought in 157,000 viewers, as The Dragons took the lead with a 28-16 win led by Mikaele Ravalawa who bagged a hat-trick at Sunshine Coast Stadium on Saturday.

The top entertainment program of the evening was Selling Houses Australia with 33,000 views.
