Nine’s Married at First Sight continued with two more weddings, lifting a huge 80%. The episode saw Shannon and Caitlin meet at the altar for the first time, with 1,729,000 watching as Alyssa and Duncan were blown away by their instant connection.

Seven’s Home and Away brought in 965,000 viewers, lifting 26%. 

10’s new season of Taskmaster saw 621,000 tune in, as tough-love master Tom Gleeson set Julia Morris, Luke McGregor, Jimmy ReesNina Oyama and Danielle Walker a series of mind-bending, head-scratching challenges. Up 22%.

Seven has won the night with a primary share of 18.4% and a network share of 28.0%. 7TWO has won multichannels with a 3.6% share.

424,000 began their evening with Seven’s Home and Away as Summer Bay went gaga over brand new addition, Baby Thomson, before 223,000 turned back the clock to watch The Best of ‘Best & Worst of Red Faces’. Veteran host Daryl Somers presented Hey Hey It’s Saturday’s most popular, funny and weird Red Faces acts of all time.

Nine’s A Current Affair interviewed The Block’s Sarah-Jane Wilson, who spoke out about her double masectomy after discovering she carries the BRCA1 gene. 552,000 tuned in to see the “reno queen” share her story that she believes would help others. The show also spoke to Leisa Wise outside of court, a woman who was charged by police for damaging cars she believed shouldn’t park outside her house.

On ABC’s 7.30, the team investigated the insurance crisis deepening for those in flood-prone areas of Northern NSW. 374,000 tuned in to all see Norman Swan discuss the fifth dose of the COVID vaccine which will be available to adults.

On 10, The Project (183,000 6:30pm / 214,000 7pm) investigated the rise of Strep A, a potentially deadly bacterial infection and WWE superstar John Cena was spotted taking in the Melbourne sights during his time down under as he films his new movie Ricky Stanicky, alongside Zac Efron. Then, on the very funny Taskmaster, 305,000 tuned in to see Gleeson put Morris, McGregor, Rees, Oyama and Walker to the test once again, while they underwent a range of ridiculous tasks for our amusement.

The highest rating non-news show on SBS was From Paris to Rome with Bettany Hughes with 136,000 tuning in to see host Bettany Hughes arrive in Italy. Her first stop was Venice, the arts and culture packed ‘Queen of the Adriatic’.
