Total TV Ratings Analysis: April 6

For Travel Guides, a rise of 20% saw a total of 1.19 million tune in as the guides continued their USA road trip heading into the deep south to visit Louisiana.

On Seven, Home and Away also lifted 20%, bringing in a total of 970,000. The Front Bar saw a jump of 16%, bringing in 407,000 for their most South Australian show ever. 

The ABC’s Wednesday night comedy lineup saw jumps in total ratings across the board. Hard Quiz lifted 14% for a total of 959,000, Mad As Hell lifted 18% for a total of 870,000, and Tomorrow Tonight lifted 17% for a total of 531,000.

Nine has won the night with both primary (22.0%) and network (31.1%) shares.

On A Current Affair, 578,000 tuned in as the show exposed the company accused of leaving small businesses in financial ruin and took a look back at some of Australia’s wildest heckling moments between politicians and the public.

The Travel Guides stayed a little closer to home last night, with 665,000 watching the guides road test a Sunshine Coast holiday. This made it the top non-news show of the night.

Nine rounded out the evening with Crocodile Dundee II, which drew 274,000 viewers.

On Seven, Home and Away had 489,000 tune in before 312,000 watched Billy Connolly: My Absolute Pleasure, as Connolly gave audiences a look at the life he leads since deciding to step back from stand-up comedy. Just over a third of those viewers came from Victoria, with 118,000 tuning in from Melbourne. 

In Melbourne, The Front Bar saw Andy, Mick, and Dave Hughes cover the announcement that Gillon McLachlan would be stepping down as AFL CEO for 269,000 viewers.

On 10, The Project spoke to One Nation’s Raj Guruswamy, New Zealand’s Jacinda Ardern, and the Kardashians for an audience of 204,000 (6:30pm) and 304,000 (7pm).

Ambulance Australia then aired back to back episodes with 255,000 tuning in for the first episode and 278,000 for the second.

On the ABC, 497,000 watched 7:30 before the Wednesday night comedy lineup kicked in. Tom Gleeson gave away the big brass mug on Hard Quiz to an audience of 563,000, before 473,000 tuned in to see Shaun Micallef launch Mad As Hell’s “Demokraken” election coverage. Finally, Tomorrow Tonight asked 282,000 viewers what would happen if babies could be grown outside of the human body.

On SBS, the highest rating non-news program was Tony Robinson’s Coast to Coast with 135,000 viewers.
