The basketball action ramps up ahead of the Tokyo Olympics with international matches from the USA Basketball Exhibition tournament in Las Vegas, involving the Australian Boomers, USA Dream Team, Australian Opals and Team USA, live and exclusive on ESPN.
The USA Basketball Exhibition Tournament will be shown with 10 live games from the pre-Olympic tournament exclusive on ESPN Australia New Zealand.
ESPN will broadcast clashes between the Australian Boomers and the USA Dream Team and the Australian Opals and USA Women’s team.
The Boomers will play four matches in the exhibition tournament, facing Argentina, Nigeria, and the USA, on two occasions.
The Australian Opals will also feature in one match of the tournament, a high profile affair against Team USA.
ESPN’s coverage begins on Sunday July 11 with a massive double header of international basketball.
The USA Dream Team take on Nigeria at 10am AEST, in their opening match of the tournament on ESPN2.
Australia then follow live at 1.30pm AEST, as the Boomers open their campaign against Argentina on ESPN.
Then one of the featured matches of the tournament comes on Tuesday July 13 at 10am AEST as the Dream Team clash with the Boomers on ESPN.
It is the first of two blockbuster meetings with Team USA before the Tokyo Olympics, as the Boomers will play a further match against the Dream Team on Saturday July 17 at 8am AEST, also on ESPN.
Saturday July 17 will be a huge morning for Australian fans, with the second Boomers-Dream Team clash preceded by the Australian Opals taking on Team USA at 4.30am AEST.
The Boomers will have a strong squad at their disposal for the tournament, including NBA stars Patty Mills, Joe Ingles, Matthew Dellavedova, Aron Baynes, Ryan Broekhoff, Dante Exum, and Matisse Thybulle.
They will face as formidable Team USA lineup who have named Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard, Devin Booker, Bradley Beal, Jayson Tatum, Draymond Green, Jrue Holliday and Bam Adebayo amongst their squad for the pre-Olympic action.
