TV Guide: Tim Tszyu v Carlos Ocampo on Kayo

Tim Tszyu

Ocampo is the #1 ranked super welterweight fighting out of Mexico

Tim Tszyu’s WBO super-welterweight interim world title defence against Mexican challenger Carlos Ocampo is set to take place on Sunday, June 18 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre and will be streamed live on Kayo from 12 pm AEST.

The Australian boxing superstar Tszyu secured his interim world championship belt in March with a ninth-round TKO of former world champion Tony Harrison. Now, his sights are set on Ocampo who is the #1 ranked super welterweight fighting out of Mexico. He has an impressive record of 34 wins and only two losses, with 22 wins by knockout.

In the leadup to the big fight, Sam Goodman will face undefeated Ra’eese “The Beast” Aleem in an IBF super-bantamweight world title eliminator. Liam Wilson is also set to fight as he will take on former world title challenger Eduardo Ramirez.

In the press conference before the match, Tszyu said he isn’t feeling the pressure going into it.

“I think I’ve dealt with pressure my whole life so for me this is nothing,” Tszyu said.

“Us athletes we do this for the fun of it, we do this for the love of it and we’re blessed to do this over and over again. Pressure? This is nothing.”

“It’s got nothing to do with him, he’s a top fighter. Whoever they put in front of me, I think whatever. I’ll annihilate them. If it’s Charlo, if it’s King Kong, if it’s a shark I have to go against or a pitbull I have to go against, I’m coming back for round two with anyone.”
