16 teams will face off at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane from Friday, May 5 – Sunday, May 7

NRL’s Magic Round returns in the 2023 season, with 16 teams to face off at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane from Friday, May 5 – Sunday, May 7 on Nine, 9Now and Fox Sports. 

The “Trellmit” train headed by Latrell Mitchell with his Rabbitohs teammates onboard rolls into Suncorp Stadium for Saturday night’s game, going up against an ominous Melbourne Storm team fresh off a bye. 

The Rabbitohs are in form and have dismantled teams in their four-week winning run, which ironically began after a loss to the Storm in Round 5. 

On Nine, hosting Saturday night’s big game will be James Bracey and the commentators include Cameron Smith, Paul Vautin, Billy Slater, Paul Vautin, Allana Ferguson and Peter Psaltis. Johnathan Thurston and Danika Mason will be on the sideline. 

Hosting Sunday afternoon’s game will be Danika Mason and the commentators include Andrew Johns, Ruan Sims, Sonny Bill Williams, Brad Fittler and Mat Thompson. Johnathan Thurston and Emma Lawrence will be on the sideline. 

The NRL Sunday Footy Show will be live from Suncorp Stadium at 11:00 am, with Origin coaches Billy Slater and Brad Fittler weighing in, before the Roosters v Cowboys on Magic Round Sunday Footy at 3:00 pm. 

On Fox Sports, All games across the weekend will be commentated and produced live from Suncorp stadium, featuring Fox League’s team of experts, including Cooper Cronk, Gorden Tallis, Braith Anasta, Michael Ennis, Greg Alexander, and Corey Parker.

The weekend will be capped off following the final game with a special edition of Sunday Night with Matty Johns direct from Suncorp Stadium, where the jokesters will be joined by special guest, Broncos captain Patrick Carrigan.

5:30 pm: Sharks V Dolphins on Fox League, Foxtel Go and Kayo Sports 

7:45 pm: Storm V Rabbitohs on Channel 9, 9Now, Fox League, Foxtel Go and Kayo Sports

Sunday 7th May 

1:50 pm: West Tigers V Dragons on Fox League, Foxtel Go and Kayo Sports 

4:00 pm: Roosters V Cowboys on Channel 9, 9Now, Fox League, Foxtel Go and Kayo Sports

6:25 pm: Titans V Eels on Fox League, Foxtel Go and Kayo Sports 

This week, Nine also launched the Stories of Origin Podcast: Series 2 which focuses on the most memorable State of Origin performances of all time. The Stories of Origin Podcast dives into the most brilliant man-of-the-match efforts and the toughest displays. Episode 1 with Fatty and Sterlo is available now with Billy Slater and Brad Fittler to feature in Episode 2 from May 8.
