• The Boys remains steady at #2

For the twelfth consecutive week, Stranger Things has made a clean sweep of the TV demand charts.

Netflix’s most popular show ever has come in 87.8 points above market average in Australia and 46.6 points above average in New Zealand. The sci-fi series has experienced a slight drop from the previous weeks but is still well above its closest competitor.

Similarly to Stranger Things, Amazon Prime’s The Boys has consistently remained at the same spot for nine weeks now. The superhero series has enjoyed another week at #2 in Australia (24.9) and New Zealand’s (20) digital original series, while Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul owns the #2 spot in overall tv shows in Australia (30.4) and New Zealand (24.7).

Making a strong entrance into the top three is sci-fi comedy-drama, The Orville. Created by and starring Seth MacFarlane, the show is inspired primarily by the original Star Trek and its Next Generation successor, both of which it heavily parodies and pays homage to. It follows the crew of the starship USS Orville on their episodic adventures. The series had a difference of 23.9 points in Australia and 18.5 points in New Zealand.

Falling from third to fifth in Australia is Hulu’s season two of Only Murders In The Building, with 19.7 points above the average. The series is a mystery-comedy that follows three strangers played by Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez, who share an obsession with a true crime podcast.  The series has been renewed for a third season. It came in 13.5 points above average in New Zealand.

The Mandalorian has placed fourth in Australia and fifth in New Zealand’s TV demand digital originals. The first live-action series in the Star Wars franchise had a difference of 19.8 in Australia and 12.7 in NZ.

In overall TV shows, Breaking Bad clocked third in Australia (25.6) and seventh in New Zealand (17.9), while Love Island UK came third in New Zealand (20.0) as the season came to an end.
