TV Demand: Peacemaker breaks HBO records

For the fifth week in a row, The Book of Boba Fett has made a clean sweep and topped all four of the TV demand charts.

The Disney Plus original came in 32.92 points above market average in Australia and 25.28 points in New Zealand, falling slightly from the week before.

The Mandalorian remains stable at number two in Australia and New Zealand’s digital original series, coming in at 26.46 and 15.65 points respectively.

HBO Max’s Peacemaker, a sequel to The Suicide Squad, is the first television series in the DC Extended Universe and has ranked fourth in Australia’s digital series with 17.94 points.

Peacemaker showrunner, James Gunn revealed the series broke a massive record with the finale having the biggest single-day performance of all the network’s original shows, up 44% from the premiere.

In a tweet, he said, “Thanks to all the fans who kept showing up more and more every week this season.”

Attack on Titan has been steadily climbing the TV demand charts, rating third in Australia’s overall TV Shows with 23.14 points and second in New Zealand’s overall TV shows with 20.81 points.

Part 1 of the final season premiered in December 2020 and ended in March 2021. After a lengthy hiatus, Part 2 returned in January 2022, airing weekly instalments starting from January 10.  According to the official Japanese site, the season is expected to last 12 episodes, with the final episode expected to be released on April 3.

Netflix original, Inventing Anna has entered the charts, coming in fifth in Australia’s digital originals. The new nine-part series based on New York socialite Anna Sorokin, also known as Anna Delvey, explores the true events that led to her arrest for financial fraud in 2017. Julia Garner plays Anna Delvey, while Anna Chlumsky plays Vivian Kent – the journalist who uncovers her story.

Hulu’s Pam and Tommy continues to rank well, coming in 19.9 points above market average in Australia’s digital originals.
