Stan reveals latest instalment in Revealed documentary series, Trafficked

The narrative will draw upon the 60 Minutes story first reported by journalist Nick McKenzie

Australian streaming service Stan continues its original documentary slate with Revealed: Trafficked.

Premiering on March 12, the original film is a raw, gritty observational documentary exposing what one of Australia’s largest human trafficking operations, and challenges the government to take action on a largely under-reported crime that is rife in Australia.

Directed by documentary filmmaker Sascha Ettinger-Epstein (The Pink House), the narrative will draw upon the 60 Minutes story first reported by 12-time Walkley Award-winner and two-time Australian journalist of the year, Nick McKenzie.

From Melbourne and Queensland to South Korea and London, McKenzie alongside South Korean journalist Jiyoon Kim from Investigative Agency Newstapa, uncovers how vulnerable women are targeted, meeting with a young survivor who was brainwashed and coerced into enduring shocking conditions as a sex worker.

McKenzie reported extensively on sex trafficking of Asian women to Australia a decade ago, blowing open the issue to global audiences. Undercover surveillance suggests that the same notorious players might be back to their old tricks.

Last year, Stan released the first instalment of the original documentaries under the Revealed banner – Amongst Us – Neo Nazi Australia.

The Stan original documentaries have been created in collaboration with award-winning journalists, filmmakers, and philanthropists from Australia and around the world, and cements Stan and the Nine Network’s collaborative partnership.

A collaboration between Stan, 60 Minutes, The Age, and The Sydney Morning HeraldRevealed: Amongst Us – Neo Nazi Australia is an eye-opening investigation led byMcKenzie that explores the terrifying rise of neo-Nazi activity in Australia.

Amongst Us follows a brave undercover individual who infiltrates the National Socialist Network – Australia’s largest far-right extremist network – and exposes the everyday Aussies at the centre of the organisation and the lengths they go to extend their influence.
