Seven launches week-long AFL celebration ahead of Grand Final

Plus, Seven has announced its Grand Final day coverage lineup

Seven has announced its Grand Final day coverage will include Bruce McAvaney, Brian Taylor, Tim Watson, Leigh Matthews, Cameron Ling, Luke Darcy, Matthew Richardson, Wayne Carey, Hamish McLachlan, Basil Zempilas, Nick Riewoldt, Daisy Pearce, along with Sam Lane and Mick Molloy.

Before the bounce on September 30, Seven is launching a week-long AFL celebration, starting with Game Day on Sunday morning.

Game Day

Hamish McLachlan hosts Game Day to preview and analyse the biggest week on the AFL calendar with Leigh Matthews, Brad Sewell and Simon Goodwin. Belinda Sloane will preview the Brownlow.

The local football leagues will feature in season Grand Finals:

• VFLW Grand Final – Diamond Creek v Darebin, Melbourne 11.30am live on Channel 7
• VFL Grand Final – Port Melbourne v Richmond, Melbourne 2pm live on Channel 7
• SANFL Grand Final – Port Adelaide v Sturt, Adelaide 2pm live on Channel 7
• WAFL Grand Final – Peel Thunder v Subiaco, Perth 2.30pm live on Channel 7


AFL Brownlow Medal
On Monday night the Brownlow screens live on Seven, starting with a fashion-focused Brownlow Red Carpet Special at 7.30pm, co-hosted by Hamish McLachlan and Belinda Sloane, with Rachael Finch and Brendan Fevola. Then Bruce McAvaney hosts the prestigious count to find the winner of the AFL’s most coveted individual honour, the Charles Brownlow Medal. X Factors international superstar Dami Im will perform live.


Talking Footy – Grand Final special
Three-time Premiership superstar Tim Watson will join Wayne Carey and Brian Taylor and host Luke Darcy to dissect the AFL news in the lead-up to the Grand Final with special guests Alistair Clarkson, Patrick Dangerfield and this year’s Brownlow Medallist.


Footy’s Funniest
Dennis Cometti hosts and celebrates footy’s craziest and most outrageous moments from the last 50 years alongside an all-star cast of Tim Watson, Matthew Richardson, Brian Taylor, Sam Lane, Luke Darcy, Daisy Pearce, Nick Riewoldt, Brendan Fevola and Lehmo.

The Front Bar – Two-hour grand final special
Join Mick Molloy, Sam Pang and Andy Maher for some Grand Final fun at The Front Bar with special guests Chris Judd, Nick Riewoldt, Bob Murphy and Jobe Watson.


Sunrise – Live from the MCG
On Friday morning, the Sunrise team led by Sam Armytage and David Koch will broadcast live from the MCG among all the Grand Final festivities.


Grand Final Footy Marathon
Re-live some of the greatest Grand Finals ever played as we count down to this year’s AFL premiership decider. Featuring the Grand Finals from 2016 Sydney v Western Bulldogs, 1975 Hawthorn v North Melbourne, 1990 Essendon v Collingwood, 1989 Hawthorn v Geelong and 1977 North Melbourne v Collingwood. The marathon ends with a look back on the last time the two teams competing for this year’s flag clashed.

Game Day
Hamish McLachlan hosts Game Day LIVE from the MCG to preview and analyse the biggest week on the AFL calendar with a stellar lineup including Bob Murphy, Nick Riewoldt, Luke Hodge, Nic Naitanui, Jude Bolton, Daisy Pearce, Jimmy Bartel and more. The panel also looks back on the best marks, goals, controversies and funniest moments of this year’s AFL season.

The Kick
The Saturday Night Footy team takes over at 11am live from the MCG to preview the big game. Luke Darcy, Mick Molloy, Matthew Richardson, Cameron Ling and Sam Lane have a jam-packed line-up including North Melbourne’s Ben Brown, The Killers and international superstar Dami Im.
