SEN 1170am is launching into 2026 with its most ambitious programming refresh yet, unveiling a sport-led Sydney lineup designed to strengthen its foothold in the city while signalling the network’s broader national growth ambitions.
From late January and February, the station will roll out a new daily schedule headlined by a fresh breakfast partnership, expanded rugby league voices and a drive-time core built around some of Australia’s most recognisable sports broadcasters.
The reset comes as SEN’s NSW digital audience continues to surge, with web, app, streaming, social, and podcast performance all posting double-digit year-on-year growth.
A new breakfast play for Sydney
At the centre of the relaunch is Kick Off with Brandy & Jimmy, pairing Greg ‘Brandy’ Alexander and Jimmy Smith from Monday to Thursday, 6–9am.
On Fridays, Smith will be joined by newly retired NRL premiership-winner Chad Townsend, bringing a current-player perspective and first-hand insight into the modern game.
The breakfast revamp positions SEN squarely in rugby league territory at the start of the day, doubling down on credibility, personality and appointment listening.
Vossy, Johns and Peacock expand the daytime bench
Mornings will be anchored by Andrew Voss from February 12, with The Front Office with Vossy airing Monday to Wednesday, followed by Vossy’s Verdict on Thursdays.
Fridays remain a fan favourite, with Matty Johns returning on February 6 for Morning Glory, while continuing his role on The Run Home every Tuesday and Thursday.
From February 10, Arvos with Adam Peacock will launch across afternoons, offering a broader sporting lens before the station’s drive-time pillars.
Drive-time stability as ratings pressure intensifies
The Run Home with Joel & Fletch, featuring Joel Caine and Bryan Fletcher, returns from February 2, followed by Sportsday with Mat Rogers & Jarrod Croker from January 27.
The afternoon and evening blocks retain SEN’s core personalities while extending live sport conversation deeper into the schedule – a key strategy as competition for spoken-word audio intensifies across radio, podcasting and streaming platforms.
Digital growth underpins the strategy
The lineup follows another strong digital year for SEN in NSW.
Across the most recent survey period (October 5 to December 13, 2025), SEN 1170am recorded:
• 429,000 web and app users (+26% YoY)
• 502,000 total streams
• 30.4 million minutes streamed
• 18.1 million social impressions (+36%)
• 6.9 million social video views
• 2.5 million additional video views (+134% YoY)
• 1.1 million podcast downloads
• 7 million video views across other platforms
The station’s NSW social following has now reached 169,000, underscoring SEN’s pivot from traditional broadcast into a multiplatform sports media brand.
‘This lineup positions SEN for an exciting year’
SEN CEO Craig Hutchison said the new schedule reflects the station’s commitment to variety, connection and digital growth.
“Sydney is one of the world’s greatest sporting cities, and we’re proud to offer a line-up that reflects the passion, depth and diversity of its fans. Brandy and Jimmy are two of the most knowledgeable and trusted voices in rugby league, and adding Chad Townsend to Fridays gives listeners unique insight from someone who has only just stepped off the field.
Vossy, Matty Johns, Joel & Fletch, Adam Peacock, Mat Rogers and Jarrod Croker continue to bring experience, personality and analysis that Sydney listeners love. Paired with the continued growth of our digital channels, this lineup positions SEN 1170am for an exciting and engaging year ahead.”
For SEN, the Sydney reset is more than a programming shuffle. It’s a statement that live sport, personality-led audio and digital scale remain central to its growth story in 2026 and beyond.
