Triton Digital has released its Podcast Ranker of Australia’s most popular podcasts for March 2022.

The Ranker provides insight into the Top 100 Podcasts as well as the Top 10 Publishers in Australia from 1 March through 31 March, 2022, as measured by Triton’s Podcast Metrics measurement service.

The Top Podcast Ranker and All-Australian Top 100 Ranker are ranked by monthly listeners, in accordance with the latest IAB Podcast Technical Measurement Guidelines.

Yet again, the top three publishers are ARN’s iHeartPodcast Network Australia, LiSTNR (SCA), and Audioboom. 

The top three podcasts for both the Top 100 Ranker and Top 100 All-Australian Ranker are Hamish & Andy (SCA’s LiSTNR), Casefile True Crime (Audioboom), and The Kyle & Jackie O Show (ARN’s iHeartPodcast Network Australia). 

There have been several debuts for the Top 100 Ranker from Twin Flames (Wondery), Allan & CarlyHit WA (SCA’s LiSTNR), The Daily Aus (ARN’s iHeartPodcast Network Australia), TOFOP (TOFOP Productions), and more. 

Total downloads of all shows by all participating publishers in the month of March is 72.8M.  

The biggest riser overall this month was F1: Beyond The Grid (Audioboom), which jumped 59 places to #63. With the F1 Grand Prix held in Melbourne on April 10th, the podcast enjoyed a surge as people geared up for the big race.

In the Australian made list, there were some big rises that line up with the radio ratings survey two results. 

2DayFM’s The Morning Crew – Hughesy Ed and Erin rose 57 places in the podcast ranker to #35, as well as recording a ratings rise for a share of 4.2%, the best in 12 months and the equal second best share in three years. 

Fifi, Fev & Nick from The Fox in Melbourne rose 67 ranker places to #46. In the most recent survey, the breakfast show’s share has ballooned to 9.6%, the best result since mid-2019.

Triple M Breakfast with Marto & Margaux rose 52 places to #96 on the ranker, with the Brisbane show moving up to the #5 spot in the daypart after gaining 0.6 points in the ratings.

Participating publishers in the Australian Ranker include Audioboom, ARN’s iHeartPodcast Network Australia, DM Podcasts, Equity Mates Media, Hidden Brain Media, LiSTNR (SCA), Motorsport Podcast Network, News Corp Australia, Nine, NOVA Entertainment, Podshape, Schwartz Media, Sports Entertainment Network (SEN), Stitcher Media, TOFOP Productions, The Chaser, Wavelength Creative and West Australian Newspapers.
