NRL Immortal Mal Meninga joins SENQ on Mornings

Mal Meninga

Mal Meninga join Ben Davis from Monday, August 15.

One of rugby league’s most renowned names, Mal Meninga will be arriving on Queensland airwaves with Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) announcing he will be joining SENQ 693am from August 15.

The Australian Test Coach will join Mornings with Ben Davis each Monday morning for a segment discussing all things rugby league, providing fans with an insight into the Kangaroos’ upcoming World Cup campaign in October.

Meninga is synonymous with rugby league in Australia, particularly Queensland. His career spans 33 appearances with the Maroons as a player and coaching the Queensland side to nine shield wins in ten years.

Meninga, one of The Immortals – 13 of rugby league’s greatest ever players – said he was looking forward to joining SENQ 693am.

“It is an exciting time for sport in Queensland, especially with rugby league on the back of a thrilling State of Origin series win by the Maroons and now with the launch of SENQ 693am,” he said.

“The NRL is entering the home stretch of the season and the finals series will soon be upon us, so it’s the perfect time to join Ben Davis on Mondays to chat all things league.”

On the Kangaroos’ quest to win three consecutive World Cups, Meninga said he hopes his appearances on SENQ 693am will further galvanise the nation to cheer on the team.

“I’m passionate about leading the Kangaroos on the world stage, and I hope I can provide fans with some insights into how we’re preparing to win our third World Cup in as many campaigns.”

Jason Matthews, SEN content manager for QLD, said Meninga’s presence on SENQ 693am brings a level of authority to the network.

“There’s no greater authority on rugby league than Mal. The opportunity for Ben Davis to pick his brain each week about the NRL at the pointy end of the season and the World Cup campaign will provide some captivating content for our audience,” he said.

Mal Meninga joins Ben Davis for Mornings with Ben Davis from 10 am AEST on SENQ 693am on Monday, August 15 and streamed via the SEN App.
