NOVA Entertainment brings streaming apps to Apple TV

The move builds on its earlier rollout across Google TV and Android TV.

NOVA Entertainment has made its full suite of apps available on Apple TV, extending the network’s reach into the connected TV space.

The Nova TV Player, Smooth TV Player, FIVEAA TV Player and Star 104.5 TV Player apps can now be downloaded via the Apple Store, giving audiences access to NOVA’s live and partner stations directly from their smart TVs.

The launch follows April’s rollout on Google TV and Android TV, making NOVA the only commercial radio network in Australia with apps live across multiple smart TV platforms.

More touchpoints for advertisers

For advertisers, the expansion provides another route into highly engaged, at-home listening audiences. The apps feature not only NOVA’s flagship stations but also streaming partners like Nova Jamz and talkSPORT.

With 80% of Australians now owning a smart TV, the move taps into a growing share of music and audio consumption happening via connected TVs and smart speakers.

Michelle Golding, NOVA Entertainment’s Director of Digital Strategy, Capabilities and Data, said: “Our priority is making content available across all the devices and platforms our listeners expect.

“With 80% of Australians owning a Smart TV and 82% of music streaming happening at home via smart speakers and Connected TVs, further expanding our SMART TV portfolio to Apple TV is win for audiences and for our advertisers looking to reach them.”

Optimised for Apple

NOVA worked with Apple to optimise each app for the platform, ensuring smooth integration with Apple TV’s interface.

The launch is part of NOVA’s broader push to widen its digital footprint and keep pace with the changing ways audiences access audio content.

The strategy reflects ongoing investment in connected TV, which is quickly becoming a critical platform for both listener convenience and brand reach.
