• Fawkner brings more than twenty years of media agency experience to the role

NOVA Entertainment has announced the appointment of Joanna Fawkner to the role of commercial operations director.

Fawkner, who will begin in the role on October 24, brings more than twenty years of media agency experience to the role. She will be responsible for optimising NOVA’s commercial inventory, trading, pricing, airtime and data analysis.

In line with NOVA Entertainment’s digital audio ambitions, she will work closely with NOVA’s senior management across sales, CREATE, digital, finance and technology to help define and deliver strategic growth.

Nick Young, NOVA Entertainment’s chief commercial officer, said of Fawkner’s appointment: “Jo’s significant experience across multiple media channels and her impressive reputation in the industry make her the ideal candidate to lead our Commercial Operations team.

“As we continue to grow and evolve our business through NOVA’s all of audio proposition, Jo will be a core part of the commercial leadership team and at the forefront of our digital transformation. As such we are excited to have her join the team in October,” he added

Most recently Fawkner spent 11 years at Zenith Media Australia, initially as group investment director where she was responsible for strategic and operational investment leadership across a multi-client portfolio.

In April 2015 she was made head of investment, leading the agency’s investment product and profile for the Melbourne market and in 2018 her remit was broadened to include Brisbane.

Fawkner was also previously national trading manager for Initiative and client service manager for UM Australia.

Fawkner said of her new appointment: “With their continued strength in audio, a renowned team and an impressive growth plan, I’m thrilled to be joining NOVA Entertainment at such an exciting time.

“I’m looking forward to working with the team and using my agency experience to help deliver on Nova’s vision and be a part of the continued evolution of audio,” she added.
