Nova 100’s Ben, Liam & Belle celebrate International Women’s Day with female artists and guests

International Women's Day

The Nova Network celebrated the day with music all day from female artists.

To celebrate International Women’s Day yesterday, Nova 100’s Ben, Liam & Belle Melbourne breakfast show handed the keys to the show to Belle Jackson.

Jackson hosted the show with a series of special guests while Ben and Liam took a back seat for the day, with Ben panelling and Liam on phones.

Jackson was joined from 6am to 7am by Nova 100 by newsreader Ash Gardner, from 7am to 8am podcaster and former Triple J personality Bridget Hustwaite and the final hour, from 8am to 9am, The Project’s Georgie Tunny rounded out the morning. Also dropping into the studio was MP Georgie Purcell.

Additionally, the Nova Network celebrated International Women’s Day with music all day from female artists.

Earlier this year, Nova Entertainment confirmed the industry rumour that the trio would be moving from Adelaide to Melbourne as Ben, Liam & Belle, to replace Chrissie, Sam & Browny.

Despite having previously spent so much time on air with Harvey and Stapleton in Adelaide, dropping the ‘Producer’ part of her ‘Producer Belle’ title was still a significant move for Jackson, she told Mediaweek.

Jackson: “I’ve probably had the biggest change out of everyone in the team, because I’ve transitioned from doing the on-air stuff, while also doing the phones, and managing all the behind-the-scenes stuff. Now, I can focus on being on-air and having fun.

“It’s been such an eye-opener being on the other side of it. I couldn’t have asked for anything more or a smoother transition.”

Since joining Nova 919 in January 2020, the Ben & Liam show have broadcast from a billboard, been locked up to support Lifeline, and revealed themselves as the Googly Eyes Bandits.
