• Netflix.shop will drop exclusive limited editions of apparel and lifestyle products tied to their shows

Netflix has announced the launch of Netflix.shop as a new e-commerce destination.

The last couple of years which have seen the streaming world become increasingly crowded – especially with the release of large platforms like Disney+ – and as a result Netflix’s growth had showed signs of slowing. The introduction of Netflix.shop introduces a new way for the streaming giant to bring in cash.

A number of Netflix’s competitors, including Hulu and HBO Max, use commercials. Netflix doesn’t have commercials, relying instead on the monthly fees paid by its subscribers – a number tipping over 200 million around the world.

Netflix.shop will drop exclusive limited editions of apparel and lifestyle products tied to their shows and brand. Among the items debuting this month are streetwear and action figures based on anime series Yasuke and Eden; as well as limited-edition apparel and decorative items inspired by Lupin in collaboration with the Musée du Louvre.

Just like in the series and films, Netflix are working with new voices in this space as well. For the launch, Netflix.shop is also introducing a collection of anime-inspired collectibles from a group of up-and-coming designers: Nathalie Nguyen, Kristopher Kites and Jordan Bentley

And there’s more ahead. Keep an eye out for exclusive products from titles like The Witcher and Stranger Things, as well as new Netflix logo-wear from Japanese fashion house BEAMS.

These limited-edition items join the vast assortment of consumer products Netflix has already made available through their partners. (For example, you can also find a wide range of Yasuke products at Target). The Netflix.shop will first be available in the US when it goes live on Thursday (US Time) before expanding into other countries around the world in the coming months.

Netflix aim to give fans a new way to connect with their favorite stories, and to introduce them to the next wave of artists and designers who embrace the power of storytelling in all its forms.

This article will be updated with any news on an Australian release when it is avaible.
