MediaWorks has launched its first 360° premium digital out-of-home (DOOH) site alongside one of New Zealand’s longest and busiest roads.

The site is located in Hamilton, in the central suburb of Frankton at the busy intersection, which connects traffic across State Highway 1 and the beginning of State Highway 23, the main arterial from Hamilton to Raglan.

The new 360° DOOH is currently showcasing the advertising and interactive media company’s teaser campaign for its new talk station, Today FM.

The campaign, which begins this week, includes DOOH slogans:”A more balanced mic.”, “Tova. No restraints.” and “News that moves us forward.”

The campaign will run through until Today FM goes live on Monday, March 21.

MediaWorks outdoor director Angus Swainson said it is fantastic to launch a 360° DOOH site.

“This site is incredible. In the best spot in Hamilton for out-of-home, it comprises three individual screens which capture the attention of drivers from each key entry point into the busy Frankton intersection, and all three faces can be booked together for the ultimate synchronised brand impact for our customers, with a combined daily traffic audience of 70,000.”

“What better way to launch our new DOOH site than combine the power of radio and digital outdoor and share the teaser campaign which is underway ahead of the launch of our new reimagined news and talk station, Today FM.

“This site will provide an always-on and unavoidable presence for the Today FM campaign,” he added.

The DOOH launch comes after MediaWorks has announced the appointment of Wayne Stevenson as its new board chair, last month.

He has been acting as interim chair since August 2021 and joined the board in late 2019.

Stevenson has spent most of his executive career in banking and finance with ANZ in both Australia and internationally.

MediaWorks reaches millions of Kiwis through its Radio and Outdoor platforms. The company is owned by Oaktree Capital Management and Quadrant Private Capital.
