Sarah Chapman has also been promoted to general manager

Mediaweek has announced the appointment of Danielle Long as group managing editor, across Mediaweek and sister website, Chattr. Long will be responsible for the editorial strategy across the Mediaweek group as it continues to grow its audience and market share. Her employment will commence on October 30.

The appointment follows the promotion of Mediaweek’s general manager and editor, Trent Thomas, who moves into the role of managing director and publisher at Mediaweek.

Mediaweek chief of staff, Sarah Chapman, has been promoted to general manager.

In addition to these changes, James Manning will continue in his role as editor-in-chief, while Andrew Mulready will continue as director of sales.

Long joins Mediaweek with more than 20 years’ experience in the media, marketing and advertising industry. She has previously worked for AdNews Australia, Campaign UK and The Drum Asia Pacific, among others.

Chapman spent 13 years at Foxtel, before owning and managing Girl Friday Management for several years prior to her role at Mediaweek.

Trent Thomas said: “We couldn’t be more excited to have Danielle join the team and help supercharge what is already a tremendous growth story that the MW team has established over the last few years. This appointment also reflects our commitment to our core content pillars as we continue to invest heavily in making content for the marketing space. I am looking forward to working with Danielle in crafting the next chapter of MW.”
