Kirsten Hasler appointed Unilever ANZ CMO

The IKEA ANZ marketing chief steps into the top role at Unilever, succeeding Anna Tracey from 1 September 2026.

Unilever Australia and New Zealand has appointed Kirsten Hasler as its new chief marketing officer, effective 1 September 2026, replacing outgoing CMO Anna Tracey.

Hasler joins from IKEA ANZ, where she served as the top marketing executive since 2022. During her tenure, she led the team responsible for IKEA’s market entry into New Zealand in 2025.

New brief

At Unilever, Hasler will oversee marketing across Australia and New Zealand, with a remit spanning brand-building, social-first demand creation, and consumer and customer insights.

Unilever ANZ chief executive Nick Bangs said Hasler’s appointment reflected both her brand expertise and leadership approach.

“Kirsten brings a unique combination of deep brand-building experience and a people-centric leadership style, shaped over more than a decade growing one of the world’s most iconic brands,” Bangs said. “What stands out is her ability to build strong, connected teams and foster a culture where creativity and curiosity can thrive.”

Bangs also acknowledged outgoing CMO Tracey’s contribution.

“I’d like to thank Anna Tracey for her valuable leadership and contribution to Unilever ANZ over many years and wish her continued success in her new career chapter,” he said.
