Gawk Outdoor has launched its 50th digital billboard, marking the milestone with a new screen in the heart of Bega, New South Wales.
The outdoor advertiser now operates more than 260 billboard sites across regional Victoria, NSW, and South Australia, solidifying its position in the regional Out-of-Home advertising market.
Gawk, founded in 2018, holds over 80% of the regional Victorian out-of-home market. Its recent NSW expansion includes the opening of a new office in Erina this July and plans to install digital billboards in Leeton and Griffith by September 2025.
“We’re beyond excited to launch our 50th digital billboard, and there’s something poetic about doing it in Bega, known for Bega Cheese,” said Peter Upton, General Manager.
“Seems fitting as Gawk is becoming the big cheese in regional Out-Of-Home.”
Following the Bega launch, Gawk is preparing to roll out two additional digital billboards in Leeton and Griffith by September 2025.
The company also opened its first New South Wales office in Erina this July, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the region. With a local team now based on the ground, Gawk is working closely with businesses, agencies, and community organisations across NSW to create bold, region-first campaigns that cut through.
“We’re not just installing screens,” said Upton. “We’re embedding ourselves in the local economy. We’re backing regional stories, elevating regional brands, and giving businesses across NSW a new way to get seen. Loud, proud, and on their own turf.”
With each new launch, Gawk Outdoor is expanding its footprint, its team, and its influence proving that big ideas don’t have to come from the city.
Earlier this year, Wildstone entered into agreements with oOh!media and Gawk Outdoor to manage advertising operations for the 52 out-of-home (OOH) sites it acquired earlier this year from Total Outdoor Media (TOM).
The deal includes 14 digital and 38 classic billboards across regional Victoria, with key locations in Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong, Shepparton, and Wangaratta. This marks Wildstone’s first acquisition in Australia, part of a broader strategy to expand its global infrastructure footprint.
oOh!media, listed on the ASX and the country’s largest OOH operator by revenue, will manage a portion of the portfolio. Gawk Outdoor, the regional market leader in Victoria, will oversee the remainder.
