Former A Current Affair producer to run US operations of DMG’s Daily Mail

Sean Walsh: ‘It’s a privilege and an honour to undertake this exciting new role’

DMG Media, the parent company of the Mail Newspapers, MailOnline and DailyMail.com, has announced Sean Walsh as global chief brand officer and managing director of US operations.

Walsh will be responsible for all global communications for DMG Media brands – and will take on additional responsibility for the day-to-day running of the US operation.

For the last seven years Walsh has been the chief brand officer of DailyMail.com based on New York.

“DMG Media is the home of the world’s most iconic media brands that continually set the global news agenda,” Walsh said in a statement. “It’s a privilege and an honour to undertake this exciting new role, working alongside our talented teams as we deliver the latest news to our readers across the globe.”

Walsh will continue to work in New York where he lives with wife Emma and children Jack and Hugo.

Walsh left Australia in 2014 when he joined DailyMail.com where he worked as chief brand officer in New York.

Prior to that he was head of digital and trade communications for Nine after holding down corporate comms roles for Wesfarmers and GE Capital.

Walsh first worked for Nine as a producer for A Current Affair in Brisbane in 2002 and later moved to Sydney working with the show’s anchors Ray Martin and then Tracy Grimshaw. Prior to joining Nine, Walsh worked briefly as a producer on Seven’s Today Tonight.
