Talking Finals Seven

Talking Finals will air at 10.00 pm AEST, on September 5

Seven has announced its all-new footy analysis show, Talking Finals, which is set to hit screens every week of the 2023 AFL Finals Series, from Tuesday, 5 September on Channel 7 and 7plus.

Hosted by 7AFL’s James Brayshaw, the new-look panel show will dive into footy’s biggest talking points, dissecting what really matters on the field, from the perspective of the game’s biggest names to taste recent finals success.

Three-time premiership captain Trent Cotchin will join Seven’s Talking Finals team as a panellist, fresh off the back of his last-ever AFL game for Richmond in Round 23.

Joining Cotchin will be Geelong Cats’ premiership captain Joel Selwood, alongside Essendon legend and 7NEWS Melbourne’s Tim Watson.

7NEWS AFL reporter Mitch Cleary will also update viewers on the trade and free agency market with a dedicated segment each week.

Managing director Seven Melbourne and head of network sport, Lewis Martin said: “With Finals looming, we know Australians are hungry for high quality and relevant footy news, views and analysis from the biggest names in the game.

“We’ve assembled a panel of experts, who truly know finals success. With 10 flags between them, nobody knows September better than Joel Selwood, Trent Cotchin and Tim Watson. Having achieved the ultimate prize in recent years, Joel and Trent will pull back the curtain and take us into the minds of current players, coaches and Clubs as they eye the last Saturday in September.

“Do not miss a minute when we go inside the inner sanctum with the biggest names to have tasted recent success, right here on Seven, Your home of Footy,” he said.

Talking Finals will air at 10.00 pm AEST, straight after RFDS on Tuesday, 5 September, with the following three episodes to be broadcast at 9.00 pm AEST Wednesdays on Channel 7 and 7plus.
