Coasties Magazine founder Amy Nelmes Bissett announced the acquisition of the publication by businesswomen Nikki Tiedeman and Tash Robertson.

Coasties Magazine is a digital publication sharing content that shows the best of the Central Coast and serves 40,000-monthly readers.

Bisset shared the news in a post on LinkedIn on Monday and wrote: “I’m so thrilled to announce that the publication has been acquired by two incredible Coast businesswomen. Follow the link to learn all about Tash & Nikki, and why they’re the perfect team for Coasties’ future.

“It’s a new era for the publication, and the end of my time in the hot seat. What a remarkable journey it has been. Coasties Magazine has supported 1,000 local businesses since September 2020.

“It has grown from zero readers to 40,000. There’s an ever-growing social audience of almost 13,000. Coasties Magazine is now the go-to for where to eat, play and shop on the Central Coast.

She wrote that launching a business had similarities to being a parent and added: “just like childrearing, it truly takes a village.”

Bissett credited the publication’s fast growing success over 18 months to the many people who lifted her up, supported her and offered help, and added: “This has been the greatest feat of Coasties Magazine – a reminder that my circle is filled with those who get a thrill from the success of others, as if it were truly their own.”

“And I’m so looking forward to celebrating the success of both Nikki and Tash as they embark on the future of Coasties Magazine,” Bisset concluded.

On the Coasties website, Robertson said of the acquisition: “Nikki and I have worked together in different roles for years. We both share the same passion for small businesses, and when the opportunity to take over Coasties Magazine came up, we simply couldn’t turn it down.”

Tiedeman, who has been part of the Coasties Magazine since its early days, said: “What started out with me advertising my own small business in the mag, ended up with me tapping into my wealth of experience as a sales leader and taking over as the Sales and Partnerships Manager of Coasties about a year ago.

“Throughout my time in the role I’ve absolutely loved connecting and building relationships with our amazing Coast business owners. To now own Coasties Magazine with Tash is incredibly exciting.”

She said: “Taking over the helm of Coasties alongside Tash from the legend that is Amy, it honestly feels like a dream come true. I am so ridiculously excited for the next chapter in the Coasties journey, as well as what the future holds for us here on the Coast as we grow our region together.”

Robertson added: “I understand the highs and lows of owning a small business. As hard as the past few years have been for many.

“I have really enjoyed working closely with local businesses to help them cement their place in the market. I have dedicated countless hours educating local business owners and helping them work out strategies to succeed during these times and beyond.”
