Bickmore provides the voice of the Terrier triplets’ mum

Carrie Bickmore has posted a video of what she’s called a “career and parenting highlight,” with her daughters reacting to Bickmore voicing a Bluey character.

In Sunday’s episode of the children’s television behemoth, Bickmore provides the voice of the Terrier triplets’ mum. As the terriers complain about being bored in the pharmacy, their mother – testing lipstick colours on her arm in the background – says to herself “That’s a bit much. Ooh, scarlett bombshell!”

It’s a blink and you’ll miss it appearance, as so many Bluey cameos are, but the moment was well and truly noticed by Bickmore’s daughters Evie and Adelaide.

“My girls watching my 2 seconds of fame on the latest episode of Bluey! What a genuine thrill to be a part of such an incredible Aussie show. I think ‘Terrier’s mum’ needs to be a regular character,” Bickmore wrote on Instagram.

The post drew a number of laughs in the comments, including from Rove McManus who pointed out “Their off-the-chart reaction to your almost deadpan ‘that was it’. Perfect comic delivery.”

The most recent season of Bluey has continued to draw in major ratings figures, frequently beating out primetime tentpole shows. The most recent episode, featuring Bickmore, brought in 534,000 five city metro viewers on Sunday.

The show doesn’t just see success domestically. Earlier in the month, Bluey was named the most streamed acquired series in America, a title which refers to a show that airs in the States but comes from anywhere outside the USA. In the week to April 9, the show was watched for 737 million minutes.

Since launching in 2018, Bluey has also picked up a number of awards including four AACTAs, a Logie, an International Emmy, and an ARIA Award
