In the number one spot for its fifth week in cinemas was Sony’s Australian-based romcom, Anyone But You. Over the weekend, it took $1,514,754, averaging $4,196 over 361 screens and has made $18,273,955 in Australian cinemas to date.
Given the Summer hit’s huge takings, it’s no surprise that it has now become the second highest-grossing rom-com of all time in Australia. While Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell’s chemistry sizzles, this milestone also proves that the genre is still alive and well in a world filled with streaming services and dating apps.
Synopsis: Despite an amazing first date, Bea (Sydney Sweeney) and Ben’s (Glen Powell) initial attraction quickly turns sour. However, when they unexpectedly find themselves at a destination wedding in Australia, they pretend to be the perfect couple to keep up appearances.

Wonka has now made a delicious $36,653,619 in Aussie cinemas to date.
