‘Ben, Liam & Belle’ to depart Nova after Late Drive axed

The trio will be leaving the business effective immediately.

Nova Entertainment’s national show Late Drive with Ben, Liam & Belle has officially wrapped, with staff informed this afternoon that the trio will be leaving the business effective immediately.

Nova had already revealed it was pulling the pin on the show earlier this year, but at the time no comment was made on the trios future at the station.

In an internal email obtained by Mediaweek, Nova’s Brendan Taylor confirmed the departure, writing: “Ben, Liam and Belle will be leaving the business as of today.”

He continued: “From their time on Adelaide and Melbourne Breakfast, to hosting the national Late Drive program, we’re grateful for the contribution they have made to NOVA since joining us in 2020. The unique connection they have built with their audience has left a lasting impression, and we wish them well in their future endeavours.”

End of an era for the trio

Ben Harvey, Liam Stapleton and Belle Jackson joined Nova in 2020 after their move from Triple J, where Harvey and Stapleton hosted the national breakfast show.

The trio went on to front Nova’s Adelaide and Melbourne breakfast programs before taking on the national Late Drive slot, which aired weeknights across the network.

Their departure marks the end of a five-year run with Nova Entertainment. Taylor told staff that “further details on programming updates will be shared in due course.”

Mediaweek has reached out to Nova for comment.
