Avenue C appointed to KitchenAid’s media planning and buying account

The kitchen brand was initially won by HYLAND in 2019 prior to its acquisition in 2020.

Avenue C has been appointed to handle all media planning and buying for KitchenAid following a closed pitch.

The independent media agency won the account from Havas. Havas Play will continue to manage the brand’s creative.

The kitchen brand – owned by Whirlpool Corporation – was initially won by HYLAND in 2019, headed by Virginia Hyland, prior to its acquisition by Havas in 2020.

Melissa Mullins, managing partner at Avenue C, said the team was looking forward to working with the brand. “Who doesn’t want one of those beautiful mixers on their countertop?! The KitchenAid team have already achieved amazing things, and we cannot wait to grow the business even further.”

Following the pitch, KitchenAid was impressed with the agency’s experienced and knowledgeable team and loved that those pitching would be the team running the account from beginning to end.

“It is clear that they have a deep level of knowledge and passion for media and we are looking forward to working with them as we bring KitchenAid to even more kitchens across Australia and New Zealand,” Bec Edwards, marketing and e-commerce director ANZ of KitchenAid, said.

The client win for Avenue C follows the appointment of Paula Lopes as digital director to bolster its digital solutions for clients such as Primo Foods, Harvest Snaps and GoDaddy.

Lopes, who joined in November, was previously the chief operations manager at KINESSO and general manager of Reprise in Sydney and Brisbane.
