Aussie brands invited to ‘Take it to TikTok’ 2026 to take control of attention

This activation involves free in-person event and a suite of new online resources.

TikTok is calling on Australian brands to “Take it to TikTok” in 2026, launching a free in-person event and a suite of new online resources aimed at helping small and medium businesses turn attention into growth.

The initiative includes a hands-on training event in Sydney, alongside downloadable industry playbooks, a creative starter pack and a new limited video podcast series designed to demystify the platform for founders and marketers.

Free event targets small and medium businesses

The Take it to TikTok event will be held on Wednesday 18 February 2026 from 1pm to 4pm AEDT at the Overseas Passenger Terminal in The Rocks, Sydney.

Designed as an interactive and educational session, the event will offer practical workshops, creative best practice guidance and hands-on training for small and medium businesses (SMBs).

The goal, according to TikTok, is to help brands convert platform discovery into measurable business outcomes.

More than 350,000 Australian businesses are currently active on the platform, using TikTok to build brand awareness and connect with audiences locally and globally.

According to data cited by the company from the Oxford Economics report, The TikTok Effect, around 3.5 million Australians visited a shop or restaurant recommended to them on TikTok, while 3.2 million reported purchasing a product or service they discovered on the platform.

TikTok also said the number of active SMB advertisers in Australia grew 45% year-on-year between 2024 and 2025.

‘TikTok has redefined discovery’: Angus Cheung

Angus Cheung, Head of SMB at TikTok AUNZ, said the platform continues to shift how businesses connect with audiences.

“TikTok has redefined how people discover and engage with businesses,” Cheung said.

“By connecting brands with audiences through interests and culture, TikTok enables both new and established brands to grow, regardless of size or marketing budget.”

New playbooks and creative tools roll out

Alongside the event, TikTok has released a series of new tailored industry playbooks for 2026, covering sectors including Fashion and Beauty, Home and Living, Professional Services, E-Commerce, and Media and Services.

A new creative starter pack is also available, offering guidance on top-performing creative, campaign setup and early-stage best practice for brands launching their first activity on the platform.

These resources are complemented by a limited video podcast series, also titled Take it to TikTok.

The series features brands already driving growth on the platform, including @iloveyochi, @eva.home, @leolin_official, @hard_fizz and @oneplaygroundaus.

Each episode pairs established TikTok businesses with peers at the start of their journey, sharing practical advice and addressing common questions around creative, performance and scaling.
