• ARN CCO Peter Whitehead opened the event

The afternoon of Wednesday, May 11th was a particularly miserable day in Sydney, but the weather could do nothing to dampen the ARN Update held at Walsh Bay’s View By Sydney.

ARN CCO Peter Whitehead opened the event, giving a business update that covered ARN’s new business footprint that reaches upwards of 8 million people across the country, the recently announced content expansion that will see major shows syndicated across the country via regional stations, and the growing impact of ARN’s Podcast to Broadcast Strategy.

Whitehead then handed over to CADA general manager Emily Copeland, joking that she was the one to go to if you need to know the difference between The Kid Laroi and Kendrick Lamar.

Having only hit the airwaves a month ago, Copeland spoke about the early success that CADA has seen, and targeting hard to reach audiences.

Copeland explained that Gen Z audiences aren’t ignoring traditional media, they’re just looking for content to meet them on their level, wanting short, sharp, snackable content that doesn’t push an agenda. She also revealed that while Gen Z dislikes ads, they don’t dislike advertising – they’re happy to be advertised to as long as the ads appeal to them.

The third part of the presentation saw ARN talent Mitch Churi and Brittany Hockley speak about the impact that ARN’s Podcast to Broadcast Strategy has had on the Life Uncut Radio Show.

Transforming their successful Life Uncut podcast into a radio show each Saturday on KIIS, the Life Uncut Radio Show was the first show to be launched as part of ARN’s Podcast to Broadcast Strategy. Hockley explained how she and Life Uncut co-host Laura Byrne made the transition from podcasting to live radio, and how their guests that resonate the most with listeners are the ones with something important to say rather than the ones who have major social media followings.
