Kylie Minogue is one single away from 50 top 50 singles

Australian icon John Farnham lands his 20th top 10 album with the soundtrack to John Farnham: Finding The Voice landing at #2 on the ARIA Albums Chart, while another Aussie icon, Kylie Minogue, gets closer to 50 top 50 singles as Padam Padam (her 49th) debuts at #39.

Farnsie first went to #1 with Whispering Jack in 1986, spending 25 weeks at #1. It is the second best-selling album ever in Australia and the highest-selling album by an Australian act, reaching 24 times platinum.

South Coast band, The Vanns, scored their top 10 debut with their second album Last Of Your Kind at #8, their first appearance on the Albums Chart. The band begins a three-month tour with the album on July 14 in Wagga Wagga.

Rounding out the Australian success stories in the top 20 are Adelaide band Bad//Dreems with Hoo Ha! new at #10, and Best Of from Pete Murray, which arrives at #16. Also, The Answer Is Always Yes by Alex Lahey debuts at #55 while Calm Ya Farm, the seventh studio album by The Murlocs is new at #67.

Topping the Albums Chart this week is the much-anticipated debut of Lewis Capaldi’s Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent. It is his second album and first #1 in Australia after his debut album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent peaked at #7 in 2019; it’s at #30 this week in its 210th week on the chart. Also in noteworthy debuts, Take Me Back To Eden by British rock band Sleep Token debuts at #3, their third album and first to chart.

On the Singles Chart, Last Night by Morgan Wallen spends its seventh week at #1, while fellow American country superstar Luke Combs’ remake of Fast Car by Tracy Chapman steps up from #7 to #5, almost equalling the original’s #4 peak position in 1988.

All My Life by Lil Durk featuring J. Cole jumps from #23 into the top 10 at #9, previously unreleased track Say Yes To Heaven by Lana Del Rey debuts at #20, and Australia’s pop princess Kylie Minogue lands her 49th top 50 single with Padam Padam at #39.
