The first program to be introduced is Influencer Marketing Essentials

The Australian Influencer Marketing Council (AiMCO) has announced the launch of its Accreditation Program. The program aims to establish best practices and elevate the standards of influencer marketing in Australia.

The first program to be introduced is Influencer Marketing Essentials, designed by industry experts to equip and enable people across agency, media and marketing, with best-practice skills to deliver business growth.

Influencer marketing has emerged as a powerful tool for brands to connect with their target audience. However, as the industry continues to grow rapidly, it is crucial to establish a framework that enables industry best practice and sets an industry standard for knowledge and capability in the management of influencer marketing.

AiMCO’s Accreditation Program addresses the needs of the burgeoning influencer sector by providing education, with an overview of the legal and regulatory framework, combined with the tools, learnings and insights of leading industry professionals.

Josanne Ryan, CEO of AiMCO said “Since the launch of AiMCO in 2019 the members have flagged the need for a uniquely focused influencer marketing capability building program to upskill the industry and embed best practice. So, the launch of AiMCO Accreditation is a milestone moment and is due to our members providing their guidance, knowledge, and expertise to assist with the format and content development of our first program “Influencer Marketing Essentials”. We look forward to following this initial industry program with the launch of “Creator Essentials”. It’s an exciting time watching the channel mature.”

The Influencer Marketing Essentials program is tailored to meet the specific needs of professionals working within the influencer marketing space. The program covers a range of topics, including strategy development, campaign execution, measurement and analytics, influencer selection, disclosure guidelines, and legal considerations.

AiMCO’s Influencer Marketing Essentials accreditation program will be delivered through a combination of online self-paced modules, interactive webinars, and practical case studies. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive AIMCO’s official accreditation, demonstrating their commitment to professionalism and industry best practices.

“The launch of AiMCO’s Accreditation Program represents a significant milestone for the influencer marketing industry in Australia,” said Jason Tonelli, chief executive officer, Zenith, and Chair of the AMAA Board, the organisation behind AiMCO. “We believe that by equipping agencies, media and marketing professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills, we can foster a culture of trust, transparency, and responsible influencer marketing practices. Through our program, we aim to elevate industry standards and promote collaboration between brands, agencies, and influencers.”

AiMCO chair Tegan Boorman, founder of Social Law Co. said, “The AiMCO Accreditation Program allows participants to tap into a wealth of knowledge, and to learn from highly experienced leading professionals. Completion of the program will be a must for anyone working in the influencer marketing space. This program sets the benchmark for the industry, and we’re proud of the significant support received to date for a program of this nature.”
