Advertising Industry Careers (AIC), the advertising and media industry careers platform, has appointed industry leaders Sue Squillace, Julie Anne Longano, and Greg Graham to its advisory board.

Squillace, Longano and Graham will work alongside AIC founders Adam Elliott and Owen Joyce to help enhance the platform’s commitment to guiding and shaping careers in the industry. The founders bring a wealth of industry knowledge to the newly launched platform, which aims to foster talent in the advertising and media industry.

Squillace is the chief executive of Mediahub in ANZ, the joint venture full-service agency owned by IPG Mediabrands and Attivo. She brings more than 25 years of experience in the industry from executive leadership roles at Starcom, Carat and Dentsu, in addition to founding Spark Foundry for Publicis and is also an active member of the Cerebral Palsy Alliance, where she co-chairs fundraising events.

Longano currently runs her recruitment firm Peeps Consulting, which specialises in the media sector. She, too, brings a wealth of experience from a career in media spanning media sales at Southern Cross Austereo, media planning at IPG Mediabrands, sponsorship management at Dentsu Aegis Network, operations at CHE Proximity (now CHEP Network) and partnerships at the Australian Football League.

Graham, best known as Sparrow, carved out a career at DDB, Leo Burnett’s & JWT before launching Mindshare’s Melbourne office as managing director. Sparrow worked for WPP/GroupM for over 25 years and was recently inducted into the MFA Hall Of Fame.

Adam Elliott, chief executive officer at AIC, said the appointments would help drive the platform’s growth. “[The advisory board members] extensive experience and diverse backgrounds in the industry will significantly contribute to our mission of fostering talent and careers. Their collective expertise will undoubtedly guide Advertising Industry Careers in providing valuable insights and resources to our community of clients and candidates.”

AIC launched in January with an ambition to revolutionise the way industry talent connects with employers by providing a job and careers hub with detailed employer profiles, training and education information and a career matching tool.

AIC has launched a partnership with Mediaweek to power the Mediaweek Jobs page to drive industry awareness of the platform and “help candidates connect, learn and apply for career opportunities inside our great industry,” Owen Joyce, chief operating officer at AIC said.
