Omnicom Oceania has appointed Kate Racovolis as Head of Communications, a newly created role in which she will lead the group’s communications function across Australia and New Zealand.
Racovolis joins from The Australian, where she served as editor of The Growth Agenda, overseeing coverage of the media, marketing, and advertising industry.
Her career spans business journalism and strategic communications, including senior editorial roles serving executive and board audiences, as well as advisory work on thought leadership, reputation, and stakeholder engagement.
She reports to Kim Hamilton, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Omnicom Oceania.
New role supports connected capabilities push
The appointment forms part of Omnicom Oceania’s broader push to strengthen its connected capabilities model, which brings together expertise across media, creative, customer experience, communications, data, and technology.
Hamilton said the hire brings together a rare mix of experience.
“Kate brings a unique combination of journalism, communications and industry experience, having previously worked closely with many of the leaders, businesses and ideas shaping Australia’s business, marketing and communications landscape,” she said.
“Through her work at The Growth Agenda and across a career spanning journalism and communications, Kate has contributed to important conversations around growth, marketing effectiveness and business impact. That perspective, combined with her understanding of reputation and stakeholder engagement, makes her a strong addition to our leadership team.”
Hamilton added that Racovolis will play a central role in amplifying client narratives.
“Our clients have incredible growth stories to tell, and Kate will play an important role in helping bring those stories to market, while elevating the conversations shaping the future of marketing, communications and business growth.”
Racovolis on the move
Racovolis said the scale and ambition of the business drew her to the role.
“Throughout my career, I’ve had a front-row seat to how businesses grow, transform and compete – and the role marketing and creativity play in driving that. What attracted me to Omnicom Oceania is the ambition behind the business, the calibre of its people and the opportunity to work with some of the industry’s most talented leaders and specialists,” she said.
“I’m genuinely excited to be joining at such an important moment for the business. I’m looking forward to supporting our leaders, showcasing the depth of expertise across the group, demonstrating the impact we create for clients and telling the stories that move our industry forward.”
