Super Radio Network (SRN) has appointed Graham Mott as chief executive officer, following the departure of Rhys Holleran, who recently stepped down from the role he took on last year.
Holleran’s exit comes after a relatively short tenure at the helm of the regional broadcaster, which operates 45 stations across New South Wales, Queensland and the Northern Territory.
Holleran and a small group of radio colleagues separately own stations in Queensland, which he acquired from Glenn Wheatley’s family in 2022. His departure marks another shift in leadership for the privately owned network as it continues to navigate broader industry pressures.
SRN chair Joan Warner said the company was pleased to appoint Mott as it looks ahead.
“We are delighted to welcome Graham to Super Radio Network,” she said.
“Graham will be a valuable addition as CEO as the network moves towards the future.”
Experienced operator steps in
Mott brings extensive experience in the commercial radio sector and is already familiar with the network, having worked on several projects across the group over the past year.
Director Despina Priala said, “Graham is a great and well-respected radio operator, and his contribution to SRN will be invaluable.”
Director George Caralis added, “Graham has a great understanding of the Super Radio Network, and I very much look forward to working with him.”
Incoming CEO flags industry challenges
Mott said his recent work with SRN had given him a clear understanding of both the scale of the network and the pressures facing the sector.
“I am delighted to be joining SRN as CEO,” he said.
“Over the past year, working on a number of projects across the group, I have come to understand some of the complexities of the Super Radio Network.
“I am also very cognisant of the challenges facing a regional radio network, and of course, radio in general, in the current economic climate.”
The appointment comes as SRN continues to evolve following the passing of founders Bill and Pam Caralis.
For 12 months, George Caralis and Despina Priala acted as joint managing directors before Warner joined as chair in August 2025, with both transitioning to non-executive director roles.
