Nielsen has appointed Matty Lin as APAC regional sales leader, bolstering its commercial leadership across one of its fastest-evolving global markets.
Based in Singapore, Lin joins Nielsen’s Commercial Organization from TikTok/Bytedance, where he most recently served as general manager of global business solutions for Southeast Asia and South Korea.
In that role, he led commercial strategy, go-to-market innovation and regional P&L across multiple markets.
Bringing platform and commercial scale experience
Lin brings close to 20 years’ experience building and scaling commercial organisations across global platforms, agencies and technology businesses.
His background spans operational leadership, transformation and sustained growth across complex, multi-market environments.
“Nielsen sits at a truly special intersection of content, commerce, and audience behaviour,” Lin said following his appointment.
“APAC is one of the most dynamic and diverse regions in the world, and as consumer habits evolve at unprecedented speed, the need for accurate, independent, and future-ready measurement has never been greater.
“I’m excited to deepen Nielsen’s influence in shaping industry standards, not only across digital and cross-media audience measurement, but also by bringing AI-driven advancements into how we help clients understand audiences, prove media value, and accelerate growth across platforms.”
Oversight across Asia-Pacific
In his new role, Lin will be responsible for Nielsen’s entire Commercial Organization across Asia and the Pacific. He will report directly to Nielsen chief revenue officer Amilcar Perez.
“I’m confident that Matty’s experience at the forefront of advertising, technology, measurement, and platform innovation will bring value to our APAC team and help deepen Nielsen’s influence in shaping industry standards,” Perez said.
Lin added that his initial focus will be on collaboration and connection across the region.
“Above all, I’m eager to get to know our teams and partners across APAC and collaborate on building what comes next,” he said.
“In a moment of unprecedented innovation and change for our industry, I’m thrilled to join forces with the team to help shape Nielsen’s next chapter together.”
Lin holds a Bachelor’s degree in finance and a Master’s degree in integrated marketing and communications from Northwestern University.
