‘Motio has momentum, ambition and a standout team’.

Motio has appointed Justin Kingston as Chief Operating Officer, as the company continues to scale its national operations across Australia’s digital place-based media landscape.

Based at Motio’s North Sydney headquarters, Kingston joins following an extensive national search.

The company said his appointment reflects Motio’s focus on accelerating commercial and operational growth in a sector rapidly transforming through technology, data, and audience-led innovation.

From oOh! to Motio

A respected industry leader, Kingston brings nearly two decades of experience in out-of-home and place-based media.

He spent the past eight years with oOh! media, most recently as Group Director – Retail, where he led major commercial programs and operational performance across one of Australia’s most complex retail media environments, including overseeing Reo.

Before his tenure at oOh!, Kingston served as Chief Operating Officer at Executive Channel – one of Australia’s original office and place-based media networks – where he helped shape the business before its acquisition by oOh! in 2017.

Kingston began his career in commercial property with Secure Parking and was one of the founding members of Executive Channel.

Leadership alignment and growth strategy

Motio CEO Adam Cadwallader said Kingston’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for the business.

“Justin is a genuine force in Place-Based media. We’ve worked together, and we’ve competed against each other and I couldn’t be more thrilled to now be on the same team again,” Cadwallader said.

“His capability, discipline and commercial firepower come at exactly the right moment as Motio moves into its next phase of growth and investment.”

As COO, Kingston will lead Motio’s commercial and operational functions, with a remit to drive performance and strengthen relationships across advertisers, partners, and venues.

Reflecting on his appointment, Kingston said he was drawn to Motio’s trajectory and team culture.

“Motio has momentum, ambition and a standout team,” he said.

“Adam and I bring complementary strengths, a shared vision and a real passion for this sector. I’m energised to help accelerate what’s already an exciting trajectory.”
