Seven Network’s new NFL deal adds Thursday night games and the Kickoff match, alongside full playoff and Super Bowl LX coverage.

The Seven Network has renewed its exclusive Australian free-to-air rights for the National Football League (NFL) for the 2025 season, adding more live games and events to its coverage.

Under the new agreement, Seven will broadcast the 2025 Kickoff matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and reigning Super Bowl LIX champions the Philadelphia Eagles, Thursday night games (airing Friday mornings AEST), and two Sunday afternoon games each week (airing Monday mornings AEST). The deal also includes all playoff games and Super Bowl LX.

Complementing match coverage, fans will have access to on-demand shows, replays and highlights on 7plus Sport, including long-running US series NFL Films Presents, as well as the NFL Draft and NFL Honors.

Seven’s 2024 season coverage reached 4.7 million Australians, up six per cent on the previous year. This year’s Super Bowl LIX between the Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs drew more than 2.6 million viewers and a total TV audience of 892,000, up 11 per cent on 2024’s championship game.

Renee Quirk, Seven’s commercial director, sport, said: “Since we first brought the NFL to Australian free-to-air audiences in 2014, it’s been a key pillar of our sport offering, and we’re excited to take it even further. With the addition of the Kickoff Game and Thursday Night Football… Australians will be treated to live NFL action on a Friday morning, which is an incredible result for both the growth of the sport in Australia and for Aussie viewers.”

Charlotte Offord, general manager, NFL Australia & New Zealand, said: “Providing free-to-air NFL content remains a top priority, with a fan base of 7.5 million and growing across the country. We look forward to working together with Seven to help deliver all the NFL excitement to our fans.”

Seven’s head of digital sport, Kirsty Bradmore, noted the growing number of Australians playing in the NFL and the event’s broad appeal: “The Super Bowl has become a huge day on the Australian sporting calendar. Whether you’re a diehard NFL fan or in it for the halftime show, there’s no better way to watch it than live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport.”

Seven’s NFL coverage also features weekly program Armchair Experts, hosted by former Super Bowl player Ben Graham and sports broadcaster Cam Luke. Coverage of the 2025 pre-season begins today, 8 August, with the Seattle Seahawks facing the Las Vegas Raiders. The regular season kicks off on Friday, 5 September, with Eagles v Cowboys live on 7mate and 7plus Sport.
