Voltaren has announced a three-year naming rights partnership with the City2Surf, beginning with the inaugural Voltaren City2Surf on August 10, 2025.

Voltaren has entered a three-year naming rights partnership with the City2Surf, the world’s largest fun run, in a deal that sees the event renamed the “Voltaren City2Surf” from 2025.

The first edition under the new title will be held in Sydney on Sunday 10 August 2025. The partnership reflects Voltaren’s broader brand mission to support Australians in maintaining movement and managing muscle and joint pain.

Aligning Voltaren with active lifestyles

Voltaren is a topical pain relief product developed by Haleon, the consumer health company also behind Panadol and Advil. The gel is used to reduce inflammation and aid recovery from muscle strains, sprains, and sports injuries.

Nagraj Iyer, Marketing Director at Haleon Australia and New Zealand, said the alignment with City2Surf strengthens Voltaren’s positioning. “Voltaren is passionate about supporting Australians in rediscovering the joy of movement and nothing encapsulates that better than the energy, camaraderie, community spirit and ‘feel good’ atmosphere of the world’s biggest fun run,” said Iyer.

City2Surf’s legacy

The City2Surf event draws tens of thousands of participants annually, combining recreational running with charitable fundraising.

The 2025 event marks the 55th edition of the race, with expectations for another record-breaking turnout.

Michelle Pepper, Managing Director of Oceania for The IRONMAN Group, which organises the City2Surf, welcomed Voltaren to the event. “At its core, the City2Surf is about having fun and moving your body your way, all while supporting causes that are important to you. We feel that aligns well with Voltaren’s mission to support meaningful connections through movement,” said Pepper.

Campaign execution for the partnership involves Publicis Sport & Entertainment, PubLeOne, The Conversion Group, and Palin Communications.
