TV Ratings Wednesday 9 July 2025: Origin III most-watched program of the year, breaks all time BVOD record

Nine’s broadcast of Origin Game III ruled the night across Total People, 25-54s, 16-39s and Grocery Buyers, with historic BVOD engagement to match.

Last night’s broadcast of the State of Origin will have the team at Nine doing cartwheels in the halls of the North Sydney HQ. Getting past the massive viewer number last night, the team at Mediaweek were interested to note that the game was the highest rating Game 3 since 2013 and the highest rating of any game since 2016. Also notable was that Nine recorded the highest ever BVOD audience of all time with 978,000 watching on 9Now.

The previous BVOD record was held by Seven with viewership on 7Plus reaching 970,000 viewers for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Semi Final: Matildas v England in 2023.
