Nine’s A Current Affair (636,000) showcased the extraordinary life of The Best music icon, Tina Turner who passed away at the age of 83. Known in Australia for singing our country’s beloved party dance song Nutbush City Limits, in 1989, the superstar also teamed up with NSW Rugby League to create one of the greatest ad campaigns of all time. The program also explored the massive fire that broke out in central Sydney on May 25, where part of a building collapsed after a massive fire broke out in Surry Hills with over 50 people evacuated. Then, on NRL Thursday Night Footy, the Brisbane Dolphins took on the St George Dragons. 220,000 tuned in to see the Dolphins take the win 26-12. The game took a turn when St George captain Jack De Belin was sin-binned for a dangerous tackle in the first half and is now awaiting the match review committee’s decision.

451,000 began their evening in Summer Bay with Seven’s Home and Away where after her break-up, Kirby drowned her sorrows. Mali found his way back to Rose and rock chick Mercedes exploded into Summer Bay! Then on Britain’s Got Talent, after his nerves got the better of him, country singer Cammy Barnes put his heart and soul into Olivia Rodgrigo’s Driver’s Licence. The Royal British Legion band put the “fun” into Uptown Funk and the Unity dance troupe’s performance was so powerful that Simon Cowell broke the rules by giving them a Golden Buzzer, even though he’d already used his in recent weeks! It’s an absolute must-watch for your Friday! 188,000 watched the acts in awe.

On 10, The Project (193,000 6:30pm / 319,000 7pm) investigated ‘Sextortion’ which is seeing more young people being blackmailed over their explicit images and welcomed Jimmy Barnes and Chris Cheney from the Barnestormers to the desk. Barnes reflected on duetting with Tina Turner on Simply the Best. Then on MasterChef, immunity was up for grabs as the winners from May 24’s immunity challenge vied to compete opposite Spanish chef Sergio Perera in Beat the Chef. 390,000 watched as fan (and our personal) favourite Declan Cleary, 24, managed to outscore the culinary expert, winning him Immunity!

459,000 watched ABC’s 7.30 explore the Australians finding success in the multi-billion dollar K-Pop industry and detailed how the AFP has launched an investigation into a former executive of consulting firm PwC plus Sarah Ferguson interviewed director George Miller. Then, 187,000 tuned in for Grand Designs New Zealand. In this instalment, Charles Webster, a man with a passion for technical engineering challenges, along with his wife, Yvonne, poured all their energy into creating a home in the shape of a sand dune on the Coromandel Peninsula.

The highest rating non-news show on SBS was Alone Australia: The Reunion. Hosted by Amanda Keller OAM, the episode brought together the entire cast for the first time since they were dropped in the remote wilds of Western Tasmania/ lutruwita. 123,000 watched the cast reunite with winner Gina Chick who said she could have lasted 20 more days in the wilderness!
